Humanitarian assistance handed over to Pakistan



KATHMANDU: Nepal has handed over humanitarian assistance of over 22 tons to Pakistan to help it meet the challenges posed by the recent natural disaster.

The relief material was handed over to Sindh Provincial Social Welfare Minister Sajid Jokhio of Pakistan by Joint Secretary Sewa Lamsal in Karachi on Tuesday as a token of solidarity, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The team that reached with the relief materials handed over the relief materials to Minister Jokhio at a program held earlier today at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The materials included essential medicines, food, and clothes.

The Nepali delegation led by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lamsal reached Karachi earlier today with aid materials.

The humanitarian assistance was airlifted to Karachi, Pakistan on a flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dr Narayan Khadka bade farewell to the team at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

The delegation was scheduled to return back home by evening.
