Chinese leader Li holds talks with Speaker Sapkota



KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, has held bilateral talks with Speaker of Nepal Parliament Agni Prasad Sapkota at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, on Monday.

The two leaders exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral ties in Tilicho Hall of Parliament building.

The Speaker is also hosting a banquet in honor of Li and the members of his delegation later in the evening.

Leading a delegation of about 100 people, leader Li arrived in Kathmandu for a four-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Speaker Sapkota.

He landed at about 3 pm at Tribhuvan International Airport.

A team, including Speaker Sapkota, Speaker of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timalsina and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Thapa welcomed the Chinese delegation at the airport.

The Chinese delegation went direct to their hotel after arrival and later reached New Baneshwor to hold a meeting with Speaker Sapkota.
