Meeting of five-party ruling coalition inconclusive even today



KATHMANDU: Despite the all-day effort, the five-party ruling coalition failed to thrash out the contentious issue of allocation of seats on Saturday.

The parties decided to meet again on Sunday.

On Saturday, top leaders of the five-party ruling coalition met to discuss and decide the number of seats in the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and state Assembly.

A meeting of the task force of the alliance and the top leaders held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday could not make any decision as the party leaders remained adamant to their respective positions.

The leaders are schedulked ot meet again at 8 am on Sunday, a leader said.

Meanwhile, Janata Samajwadi Party Upendra Yadav did not participate in today’s meeting.

JSP leader Ramsahay Prasad Yadav said that all sides endeavored to settle the issue of allocation of seats.

It may be noted that the task force had submitted an incomplete report to the top leaders.
