NEPSE falls by 21.97 points



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the stock market index, fell by 1.10 percent on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

The market index NEPSE fell by 21.97 points (1.10 percent) and closed at 1973.38 points.

Along with NEPSE, all the sub-indices declined today. When the finance company sub-index declined the most by 2.42 percent, the hydropower sub-index declined by 2.17 percent. Similarly, the banking sub-index leading the market also declined by 0.53 percent.

Due to the decline in NEPSE, the transaction amount was limited to 1 billion on Wednesday as well. On Sunday, the first trading day of the week, the transaction amount exceeded 2 billion, on Monday, it decreased to 1.26 billion, and on Tuesday, the third day, it was limited to 1.1 billion.

On the fourth trading day of the week, on Wednesday, 2,992,873 shares were bought and sold, with a turnover of Rs 1.12 billion.
