NC cannot remain in coalition unless it gets 100 seats: Leader Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Central Committee member Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the party cannot form an alliance with less than 100 seats in November 20 elections.

He added though situation was such that all parties had to forge alliance and head to the polls, the number of seats for NC could not be reduced below 100.

Koirala said, “NC was strong enough and was capable of contesting the elections on its own. Nevertheless, as the situation is not favorable, we are compelled stay in the alliance.”

Addressing a one-day training program organized by NC Morang Constituency No 6 at Sundarharaincha on Saturday, he made it clear that the NC could not leave its strongholds despite other coalition partners’ claim over.

He viewed that seats ought to be distributed considering the organizational situation of the party and the grounds for victory.
