Province tourism ministers assemble in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A conference of tourism ministers of all seven provinces has been organized in Kathmandu today with an objective of revitalizing the country’s tourism sector affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has organized the day-long conference calling tourism ministers of the seven provinces in Kathmandu.

Discussion would be held on the laws and criteria set by the respective provincial governments regarding registration, permission, renewal and regulations of hotel, rafting, travel agency, trekking agency, tourism transport service and tour guide in the conference, according to the ministry.

Similarly, the conference would also discuss on various issues including tourism related rights, federal structure and inter-relation, responsibilities of federation, province and local levels, policies and programs announced by the budget of the current fiscal year, revival action plan, and tourism infrastructure partnership program run by local levels.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, inaugurated the conference this morning.
