UML holding central committee meeting today



KATHMANDU: Main opposition party, CPN-UML, is holding its central committee meeting on Friday.

The Central Committee meeting will end on Saturday, the party said.

A meeting of the party’s politburo held on Thursday fixed 11 agendas for the Central Committee meeting set to begin today.

Friday’s central committee meeting is a part of the party’s election-centric meetings of various committees from August 23.

The party has been holding a series of meetings to formulate the necessary strategy for the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 20.

The UML said that the meeting of the Standing, Politburo, Central Committee and the Central Election Operational Committee will be held by August 28.

CPN-UML held a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee on Tuesday.

Likewise, the meeting of the party’s Central Election Mobilization Commission will be held on August 28.

UML has formed a central election mobilization committee under the chairmanship of party Chairman KP Oli.

On Thursday, UML Chairman KP Oli presented a summary of his political report at the Politburo meeting held at the party office in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

Chair Oli’s political report will be put forth for endorsement in the Central Committee meeting.
