Oli calls for intraparty unity

KATHMANDU: Dissatisfied with the intraparty feuds, CPN UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said his party could win more seats in the upcoming federal and provincial assembly polls if a firm unity was maintained within the party.

Currently, a panel is probing into the alleged intraparty betrayal in the local level elections that took place on May 13.

At a program organized by UML Parsa District Committee in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the UML Chief asked the party leaders and cadres to work for the victory of party candidates by quitting the trend of non-cooperation.

Oli also asked the party leaders to present themselves humble and decent before the people and cadres while implementing the party decisions and assured the leaders of additional responsibility in case the UML was to lead the government after winning more seats in the upcoming polls.

During his speech, the former Prime Minister expressed his concern over the publicity feat carried out against the UML terming it an anti-Madhes force in the Madhes and anti-hill in the hilly region.
