KATHMANDU – Garbage of Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be picked up and taken to the landfill site in Bancharedanda within two days.

The garbage in the Kathmandu Valley will be removed, the Metropolitan Corporation said.

KMC Mayor Balen Shah and the residents of Bancheredada have reached a “conditional agreement” on the issue of garbage disposal.

More than 30 trucks and tippers of the private sector are being used in the waste transportation of the Valley.

According to KMC, the waste management of the Valley has become easy with the help of the private sector.

For the last three days, the locals of Bancharedanda have not obstructed the trucks carrying garbage.
