Sharma described the late Giri as an established studious and intellectual person in Nepali politics.

NC leader Dr Shekhar Koirala said that the late Giri was such a leader capable of interpreting the democratic socialism thought as propounded by the late BP Koirala, founding president of the Nepali Congress. “Giri had the capacity to eloquently put across his opinions within the party and in other programmes as well.”

Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Nepali Congress Vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka, general secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand had reached the Hospital to pay tributes to the late Giri.

Nepali Congress leaders and party workers, well-wishers from other political parties, intellectuals, journalists and people from various walks of life were gathered at the hospital premises to pay their respects to Giri.
