NepaliSat-1 released into orbit



KATHMANDU: NepaliSat-1, Nepal’s first satellite, was released into orbit from the Kibo Module of the International Space Station (ISS) on Monday.

It was in the ISS since one and half month and was released into the Earth’s orbit at 4 pm today.

The nanosatellite weighing 1.3 kilos was launched from the Virginia Space’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in the United States on April 17.

Speaking at the function organized by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel thanked all for making the project successful.

He said that the cooperation had strengthened bilateral ties between the two countries.
