Ruling coalition’s task force “close to a conclusion”, Sitaula to brief top leaders



KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition’s task force formed to allocate the electoral seats for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly has “almost finalized” the report.

Now the decision would be apprised to the top leaders of the five-party coalition.

Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister of Communications and member of the task force, said that the responsibility to allocate the electoral seats for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly assigned to the task force has been completed.

Minister Karki emphasized that the meeting headed in a positive direction.

“It has been agreed that the details of the discussions held so far will be conveyed to the top leaders, and then a decision will be reached from the meeting,” he said.

Krishna Prasad Sitaula, the coordinator of the task force will discuss with the top leaders about the bottom line of which party will get how many seats.

NC General Secretary Gagan Thapa, who is also a member of the task force, said that leader Sitaula would discuss the bottom line with the top leaders.

The final outcome will be made public in a day or two.

Leader Sitaula will discuss the issue with Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, United Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Janata Samajwadi Chairman Upendra Yadav, among others.
