Gandaki state Minister promises effective implementation of budget



POKHARA: Gandaki State Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Kiran Gurung has on Monday vowed to effectively implement the budget for the fiscal year 2019/2020 unveiled on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference today, Minister Gurung said the state government was working on some laws while several of them have been made to facilitate budget enforcement.

He emphasized on the collection of internal revenue saying that the state government has prioritized tourism, transportation, and agriculture, among others to generate revenue.

Minister Gurung further stated that the state government would make sure that the some 60 to 75 percent of the vehicles, which have been registered elsewhere, would have to be now registered in the state. He assured of waving off 25 percent of the tax in this regard while stating that the state government has aimed to collect Rs 3.2 billion from new vehicle registration as well as a renewal in this fiscal year.

The Gandaki state government on Sunday presented a budget of Rs 32 billion 134 million 792 thousand for the fiscal year 2019/2020.
