KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained massive 55.88 points and closed at 2,065.89 points on Monday after going bearish for the past six days.
The index had disappointed investors and lost 27.92 points on Sunday. However, the index reignited hope among investors by registering a gain of 2.78 percent on the second trading day of this week.
The index that opened at 2,007.19 points made an intraday low of 2,004.07 and closed at intraday high of 2,065.89 points.
A total of 6,026,192 units of shares of 215 companies traded via 42,897 transactions, resulting in daily turnover of Rs 2.43 billion. Sunday’s trading turnover was Rs 1.87 billion.
The shares of Shivam Cements Limited recorded the highest turnover while the shares of NMB Hybrid Fund L-1 traded the most.
Shree Investment Finance Company was the topmost gainer while Ridi Hydropower Development Company emerged as the biggest loser today.
All sector indices closed green, “Finance” gained the highest 7.38 percent while “Manu.& Pro.” gained the least 0.47 percent each.
