KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress joint-secretary and former minister Mahendra Yadav has urged the President to certify the Citizenship Bill soon.

It may be noted that the Bill has now been sent to the Head-of-the-State for authentication following its endorsement by the both houses: National Assembly and the House of the Representatives.

The leader said the Bill is capable of addressing the issues of statelessness that the people in the Terai and other parts of the country are facing and it needs to be certified and implemented without any delay.

He spoke at a program in Kathmandu on Thursday. According to him, the five-party alliance is the need of people and it will continue till and even after the upcoming elections of the Province Assembly and the House of Representatives.

He claimed that the one-year achievement of the incumbent government is noticeable as it accomplished such works which were unachievable for the erstwhile government during its three-year term.

Similarly, speaking at the same program, CPN (UML) leader and former Minister Khagaraj Adhikari demanded the government reduce the prices of petroleum products in line with the prices in the international market.
