President should not have delayed in validating Citizenship Bill, Prachanda says
Chairman of the ruling Maoist Centre, Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari should not have delayed in validating the Citizenship Bill endorsed by the Federal Parliament.
Responding to a journalist’s query about the Citizenship Bill, Prachanda hoped that President Bhandari will not block the Bill upon his arrival from Japan on Wednesday afternoon.
Ruling parties engage in discussion on allocation of Kathmandu constituencies
Even as the five-party task force formed to allocate electoral seats has initiated discussions, the ruling parties have also intensified internal discussions on the distribution of seats in Kathmandu constituencies.
Sources said that the Maoist Center is claiming three seats out of the 10 constituencies in Kathmandu.
Nepal sees 868 new coronavirus cases, three deaths in past 24 hours
Nepal recorded a total of 868 new cases of coronavirus and three deaths in the past 24 hours as of Wednesday.
Of the confirmed cases, 496 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 372 through the Antigen method.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 6,705 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
NEPSE declines by 5.11 points on Wednesday
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has continued its downward trend and declined by 5.11 points on Wednesday.
The stock market which declined by 0.25 percent and reached to 2057.68 points today.
NA members draw government attention to incidents of natural disasters
The National Assembly (NA) lawmakers have drawn the government’s attention to prompt response to the incidences of natural disasters, calling for proper management of the survivors with relief and assistance.
“Many districts in the nation reported the incidences of monsoon-caused disasters that resulted in losses of lives and property,” they said during a zero hour of the upper house session today.
Lalitpur metropolis to provide Rs 10 thousand allowances to senior citizens
The Lalitpur Metropolitan City is providing Rs 10 thousand allowances to senior citizens.
The metropolis is providing the allowance to the elders so that they would be able to celebrate the festivals with gaiety.
The allowance would be given to the senior citizens once a year during the Bada Dashain festival, Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan said.
