PM Deuba holds talks with Unified Socialist leader Khanal



KATHMANDU: A delegation led by the CPN Unified Socialist honored leader Jhalanath Khanal met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday and called his attention to the imposition of 40 percent tax on Nepali tea by India.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

After holding discussions on the topic of the problems faced by the domestic tea entrepreneurs on the occasion, PM Deuba expressed commitment to extend maximum help in resolving the problem, said Krishna Bhattarai, personal secretary of the former Prime Minister Khanal.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Deuba and leader Khanal exchanged views on the contemporary national politics, the national economy and foreign policy, the upcoming election and alliance, among other topics.
