Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude shakes Kathmandu at 5:26 am

Epicenter in Nuwakot



KATHMANDU: An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 hit Nepal’s Nuwakot district and surrounding areas early Saturday morning.

The quake took place at 5.26 am with Nuwakot as its epicenter, according to the National Seismological Center.

Shockwaves from the quake were felt in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts, said the local people.

However, details of losses caused by the quake are yet to come.
