Act judiciously or face consequences: Dahal warns government

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has warned that the country would plunge into a grave crisis, even with a greater magnitude than the Maoist insurgency, if the government circumvented the spirit of the peace process and the constitution.

He criticized the government for failing to move ahead with the spirit of the constitution. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Friday, Dahal came down heavily on the government of being tightfisted in delegating power to province and local bodies.

“Mind it, the country will face yet another catastrophe if the government did not work in the spirit of the peace process and the people’s aspirations,” Dahal warned.

He also warned that the country would see separate movements in the Madesh and the hills if the present situation persists.
