Bara-Parsa Industry Association established

PARSA: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has established Bara-Parsa Industry Association in Madhesh Province.

The Association came into being during the Industrial Conclave organized by Madhesh Province government, Confederation of Nepalese Industries and UKaid Skills for Employment Programme Nepal in Simara of Bara district.

The Conclave organized with an objective to review progress on economic growth and upcoming action-plans established the Association chaired by Birendra Sanghai.

Madhesh Province Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut said that industry-friendly environment would serve as a main basis for prosperity in Madhesh Province.

Stating that the provincial government had adopted one-door policy to address the issues facing the industrialists in running industries, CM Raut shared the provincial government recently decided to establish Department of Industry in Birgunj.

According to him, most of the foreign-bound youths were from Madhesh Province. In this backdrop, he urged all the stakeholders to collaborate with the provincial government to help create jobs at home and prevent the exodus of youths for foreign employment.

Shatish Kumar More, outgoing president of CNI, appealed with the government to facilitate in directly procuring electricity to Madhesh Province from other provinces to run the industries.

Rajesh Agrawal, Vice-President of the CNI, underscored continuous dialogue and coordination with the private sector for prosperity.

He also pointed out the need to sensitize and update the private sector about the new laws and regulations.

On the occasion, Nicola Pollitt, British Ambassador to Nepal, said that Madhesh Province had a huge economic potential.

She viewed the Conclave was an important ‘platform’ for public private dialogue and cooperation.

“It is equally important for the private sector to work together with government for economic development.”

The CNI’s coordinating effort with the provincial government for economic growth is very crucial.
