KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the report of the parliamentary special committee formed to investigate Janardan Sharma could not be accepted.
Addressing a program held by the National Youth Association on Saturday, he said that the report of the parliamentary committee cannot be accepted as the report was brought on the basis of majority and minority votes.
The 11-member parliamentary team formed to investigate the entry of unauthorized persons into Finance Ministry during the budget preparation consisted of four members of the UML and the remaining were from Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Center, CPN United Socialist Party, Janata Samajwadi Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
Oli alleged that the parliamentary committee was formed so that the ruling coalition would have a majority.
Oli asked, “This report is not based on facts, it is not something that can be accepted, Nepali people should reject it.”
He said that the investigation committee was not allowed to access CCTV footage and call details.
He added, “ The decision was made with seven members of their side forming a majority.”
