Two karate coaches arrested on gang rape charge in Biratnagar



KATHMANDU: Two karate coaches have been arrested on the charge of gang rape in Biratnagar, Morang, on Tuesday.

The suspects have been identified as Suraj Subedi aka Amar, 50, of Biratnagar-4 and Binod Raut, 50, of Biratnagar-3, said DSP Deepak Shrestha, spokesperson for Morang District Police Office.

Both of the accused have been recognized as professional karate coaches by National Sports Council.

DSP Shrestha said the two have been accused of gang-raping a teenage girl by luring her to a hotel.

After the teenage girl stopped going to college, her family intriguingly investigated and find out about the gang rape incident, according to police.

Following that, the family filed a complaint with the police.
