NEPSE gains 54.45 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index gained for a consecutive second day a significant 54.45 points on Monday after monetary policy for the fiscal year 2022/23 was announced on Friday. The index had gained 61.05 points on Sunday.

The NEPSE index opened at 2,081.66 points and the opening index remained the days intraday low while the intraday high touched 2,134.62 points before closing at 2,132.96 points. The stock market gained 2.26 percent today (Monday).

A total of 9,944,048 shares of 214 companies traded hands via 64,231 transactions, resulting in a turnover of Rs 4.10 billion. The turnover yesterday was Rs 2.73 billion.

Shares of Shivan Cements Limited registered the highest turnover for today while API Power Company was the top stock by shares traded.

Seven companies gained the highest at positive circuit breaker level of 10 percent for the day as 9.5% Manjushree Finance Limited Debenture 2085 lost the highest of 5.87 percent today.

All sector indices closed green, “Finance” gained the highest 7.9 percent while “Mutual Fund” gained the least 0.68 percent.
