Police nab three for stealing gold and silver ornaments from temple



KATHMANDU: The police have arrested three people on the charge of stealing the gold and silver ornaments of the statue of Santoshi Mata in Nagpokhari, Naxal.

According to police, the arrested are an 18-year-old girl of Chautara, Sindhupalchok living in Gaurighat, Chabahil, Siddharth Budhathoki, 20, of Lalbandi-16 and Bishnu Pachai, 25, of Musikot, Gulmi now living in Kharibot, Kathamandu.

The accused had broken the lock of the Santoshi Mata temple and stolen the ornaments on July 7.

Police have recovered most of the stolen ornaments including the crown, necklace, and pieces of jewelry.

The police are investigating further taking them on seven-day remand from the Kathmandu District Court.
