NEPSE rises by 59.54 points, Wednesday witnesses turnover of Rs 2.4 billion



KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has witnessed a double-digit growth of 59.54 points to reach 1986.82 points on Wednesday.

A total of 57,87,126 shares of 225 companies were traded in 32,782 transactions today.

The transaction amount on this day is equal to Rs 2.44 billion.

Prices of all subgroups rose on Wednesday.

Most of the development bank investors have earned. Nepal Finance and Reliance Finance had a positive circuit on Wednesday.

The value of about a dozen companies, including CEDB Hydro, Corporate Development Bank and Citizens Mutual Fund, has risen by more than 9 percent.

Shivam Cement had the highest turnover.

The market rose 3.09 percent on Wednesday.

On the day when Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Rastra Bank was pulled in controversy, the share market has increased by double digits.

Investors had been interpreting the monetary policy introduced by Governor Adhikari as discouraging to the share market.

Governor Adhikari who had allegedly put the then Finance Minister Janardan Sharma into difficulty by openly challenging the latter’s financial proposals has been in controversy after the main opposition CPN-UML’s finance department has named ‘M Adhikari’ as its member.
