Vote counting in Bajura’s Budhiganga to start today

BAJURA: The counting of re-election for the leadership of Bajura’s Budhiganga municipality will begin shortly.

An all-party meeting has been scheduled for today morning, and it has been agreed to start counting votes after the meeting, said District Election Officer Nawaraj Awasthi.

Except for Budhiganga, all the local level elections of the country have been completed.

The Election Commission (EC) had decided to re-run the polls on July 7 following reports of rigging in the May 13 election.

According to the EC, 66.83 percent of the votes were cast on Thursday.

Ram Bahadur Baniya from CPN-UML and Ranga Khati from the ruling five-party alliance are in the fray.
