Ruling coalition meeting to settle Bagmati and Sudurpaschim CM Friday



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the ruling five-party alliance is scheduled for Friday afternoon.

According to sources, the meeting will discuss the issue of changing the Chief Minister of Bagmati and Sudur Paschim Provinces.

The coalition is preparing to change the chief minister in Bagmati and Sudur Paschim provinces even before the general election date is announced.

Rajendra Prasad Pandey of the CPN-Unified Socialists is currently the Chief Minister in Bagmati and Trilochan Bhatt of the CPN-Maoist Center is the Chief Minister in the Sudur Paschim.

Nepali Congress has been claiming for the post of the Chief Minister in Bagmati whereas Madhav Kumar Nepal led Unified Socialist has been claiming the Chief Minister in Sudur Paschim.

The time of the meeting on Friday has not been fixed yet.

“The meeting of the coalition has not been scheduled yet,” said Govinda Pariyar, press coordinator for Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

In the meantime, Janata Samajbadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav is preparing to recall those who have joined the government from his party and propose the name of the new ministers.

Earlier, JSP Chairman Yadav, Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Unified Socialist Chairman Nepali had met on Friday morning.
