RPP becomes full member of International Democrat Union



KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has received full membership of the International Democrat Union (IDU), a leading body of an international alliance of center-right political parties.

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, the IDU consists of 84 full and associate members from 65 countries.

RPP Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that RPP, which had been participating in the IDU forum from Nepal as an invitee for the past 15 years, has finally gained full membership.

According to him, RPP received the membership at an IDU forum held from June 26-29 in Berlin, Germany.

RPP Vice-Chairman and head of secretariat Hemjung Gurung received the certificate of full membership from IDU Chair Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister of Canada, on behalf of the party during the four day assembly.
