KATHMANDU: The Airlines Operators Association (AOA), which had on Tuesday announced to close all the airlines without giving even 24 hours’ notice to the passengers, will start regular air service from 11 am on Wednesday.

The decision to this effect was made during a meeting between the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the Airline Operators Association.

A meeting held between CAAN Director General Pradip Adhikari and AOA officials last night under the coordination of Home Ministry Secretary Teknarayan Pandey decided to not stop the flights.

“Negotiations will continue, but for now we will not stop the air service,” said Yograj Kandel, AOA spokesperson.

The AOA has earlier decided to close all the emergency and scheduled flights from Wednesday.

The decision to this effect was made against the decision of the CAAN to send helicopters and aircraft out of Kathmandu for night-stop parking and they are required to operate the first flight of the day from the base airport (stop area).
