HoR endorses amendments by National Assembly



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) has unanimously approved the amendment made by the National Assembly on the bill related to protection of plant and seeds.

In Tuesday’s HoR meeting, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mahindra Raya Yadav had tabled a proposal seeking consideration of the Lower House to the amendments made by the National Assembly on the Bill related to protection of plant (First Amendment), 2076 BS and Bill related to Seeds (Second Amendment), 2076 BS.

Lawmakers Prem Suwal, Ganga Chaudhary Satgauwa, Bimala BK and Sarita Kumari Giri, among others, participated in the discussion on the proposal to consider the National Assembly’s amendments to the bills.

Replying to a query raised during the discussion, Agriculture Minister Yadav said that the government was going to amend the bill with the objective of conserving and promoting indigenous plants and seeds.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives will be held on 1 pm on Thursday.
