UML Chair Oli urges people’s representatives to serve people as a servant

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has directed the newly elected people’s representatives of local levels elected from his party to carry out activities as people’s servant as not to break down the people’s trust and their responsibilities.

Inaugurating the two-day training and orientation program organized by CPN (UML) Central School Department at Kathmandu on Thursday, former Prime Minister Oli urged the people’s representatives to serve the people as their servant, not a boss.

“You are now not a common person after winning the election. People watch you in every step. Don’t allow any weakness in course of serving people based on party’s guidance and ideology,” he mentioned.

The UML Chair requested the cadres not to be disappointed as the CPN (UML) has received the highest popular votes though it did not get expected result in the major posts of local-level election.

He also urged all to involve in different activities related to election as the federal and provincial election is coming closer.

UML Central School Department organized the orientation for mayors, deputy mayors, chairperson of municipalities and vice-chairperson of rural municipalities and chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of District Coordination Committee elected from the CPN (UML) in local-level election held on May 13.

General-Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Central Accounts Commission of the UML, Dr Pushpa Raj Kandel, among others, would impart training on the issue of relation between party and local-level people’s representatives, budget and programs formulation and effective implementation of programs.
