Jazeera’s airbus diverted to Gautam Buddha Int’l Airport due to inclement weather in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: An airbus of Jazeera Airways that was supposed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu was diverted to Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa due to inclement weather in Kathmandu.

The flight of Jazeera Airways from Kuwait to Kathmandu was diverted to Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA), Bhairahawa at 4:22 am, said Govinda Prasad Dahal, General Manager of GBIA.

According to him, the flight took off for Kathmandu at 6:30 am after the weather cleared. The airbus has already landed safely at Tribhuvan Airport at around 6.50 in the morning.

This is the first time the airbus was diverted to the Gautam Buddha International Airport, Nepal’s second international airport.
