Misuse of state powers by govt and coalition parties affected local poll results: UML



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has concluded misuse of state power by government and ruling coalition partners in the local level election held on May 13 affected the results.

A meeting of the CPN-UML Central Secretariat was held at the party headquarters in Chasal, Lalitpur, on Monday.

The secretariat reviewed results of the local elections held on May 13. The report presented at the Secretariat meeting stated that the government and the ruling coalition partners, including top leaders, misused state powers in the local level elections.

The report submitted by the party’s election committee stated that the local elections had not yielded the expected results due to the abuse of state power by the government and the ruling party and the betrayal of party leaders.

Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli presided over the meeting attended by Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel and Vice Presidents Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Ashta Laxmi Shakya, Subash Nembang, Surendra Pandey, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Secretaries Padma Aryal, Yogesh Bhattarai, Deputy General Secretaries Pradip Gyawali, Bishnu Rimal, Lekhraj Bhatt, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Bishnu Poudel, among others.
