Inclement weather disrupts flight services at Lukla Airport

Tourists stranded



SOLUKHUMBU: Flights at Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu have been disrupted for a week due to inclement weather.

The flight was canceled at Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla due to bad weather.

Chief of the Civil Aviation Authority Lukla Dwarika Achhami said that the flight has not been operated since last Sunday.

He said that the flight schedule was canceled due to inclement weather, leaving the tourists heading for Kathmandu stranded in Lukla.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), more than 150 tourists have been stranded in Lukla.

Domestic and foreign tourists have started reaching Salleri after the flight from Lukla was canceled. They are preparing to return to Kathmandu by land.
