Former President Yadav bats for Chure conservation



BIRATNAGAR: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said exploitation of Chure hill is taking place due to delay in completion of postal highway.

Receiving the honor handed over by Pitaji Krishna Prasad Koirala Memorial Council in Biratnagar on Saturday, Dr Yadav argued that Tarai, the breadbasket of the country, is in trouble due to over exploitation of Chure.

He viewed that both Mahabharat range and Tarai will be conserved from the conservation of Chure hill.

On the occasion, the former President praised Pitaji Krishna Prasad Koirala stating that he was social reformer and the new generation should study his contributions.

According to Dr Yadav, Pitaji Krishna Prasad Koirala believed that society could be changed through a democratic system and was a dedicated social figure and education lover.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress central committee member Dr Shekhar Koirala handed over the honor to former President Dr Yadav and stated that society could not benefit from the individuals involved in politics for short-lived benefit.

Likewise, Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Nagesh Koirala recalled that Pitaji Krishna Prasad Koirala was the one who initiated township in Biratnagar and his contributions to the social change, development and democracy in the country are immense.
