USARPAC Commander General Flynn calls on PM Deuba
Chief of US Army in Asia-Pacific region, Charles A Flynn, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday.

Forex reserves decline 18 percent in 10 months of running fiscal
Gross foreign exchange reserves in the country decreased 18 percent in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2021/22.
According to macroeconomic and financial report released on Friday by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), foreign reserves declined to Rs 1,146.88 billion in mid-May 2022 from Rs 1,399.03 billion in mid-July 2021. This is a decrease of 18 percent.
Govt bans all kinds of strikes on essential services
The government has banned all kinds of strikes in 25 essential services.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, while publishing the information in the Gazette, has banned all kinds of strikes in 25 essential services using the right given by sub-section 1 of section 3 of the Essential Services Operation Act, 2014.
UML Chair Oli refutes offering Prime Ministerial position to anyone
CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has clarified that he had not committed anyone from other political parties to elect him/her as the Prime Minister.
Oli was hinting at the recent remarks coming from CPN (Maoist Chairperson) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal.
BoP records deficit of Rs 288.50 billion in 10 months of this fiscal
The money exiting Nepal is found to be more than the money entering the country.
According to the macroeconomic and financial report published by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Friday, the Balance of Payments (BoP) remained at a deficit of Rs 288.50 billion in the first 10 months of the current fiscal 2021/22.
The same was in surplus of Rs.7.75 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Nepal exporting 364 MW electricity to India from midnight today
Electricity is being exported to India according to the quantity for which it had given permission for.
There used to be surplus power in the previous years as electricity used to be generated matching the installed capacity.
Spain’s envoy calls on Minister Ale, pledges support to Nepal on climate change affairs
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale and Spain’s non-resident ambassador to Nepal, Jose Maria Ridao Dominguez, held a meeting on Friday.
The ambassador visited the Minister at his office and matters relating to Nepal-Spain bilateral relations and cultural and tourism aspects were discussed between the two during the meeting.
Remittance inflows swell by 0.2 percent in ten months of this fiscal
Remittance inflows increased 0.2 percent in the first 10 months of current fiscal year.
According to macroeconomic and financial report released on Friday by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), remittance inflows swelled 0.2 percent to Rs 811.79 billion in the review period compared to 19.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.
Govt increases public transport fares
The government has again increased public transport fares.
Issuing a notice on Friday, the Department of Transportation Management (DoTM) said the fares of interprovincial freight and passenger vehicles have been increased. Earlier, the fare of passenger vehicles was reduced by 2 percent on May 25.
