AFC Asian Cup Qualifier 2023: Nepal lose 2-0 to Jordan

KATHMANDU: Nepal lost 2-0 to Jordan in the first match of the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier 2023.

Nepal stopped Jordan in the first half at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City on Wednesday night but could not endure it in the second half.

Jordan’s Ali Olwan and Hamza Al-Dardour scored one goal each.

Jordan came under pressure when Nepal’s goalkeeper Deep Karki saved a penalty in the first half. Deep, who made it to the starting eleven in the first official competition, saved a penalty from Jordan’s Mohamed Suleiman in the 43rd minute.

With the victory, Jordan has added 3 points from the first game. Nepal is at the bottom of Group B without any points.

The head coach of the Nepali team Abdullah Al-Mutairi said that the young players performed well but failed to stop Jordan.
