KANCHANPUR: The local governments in Kanchanpur district have started suspending classes at schools following increase in heat.

The Bedkot Municipality has announced a three-day holiday at schools in the municipality beginning Wednesday due to the scorching heat.

The Municipality said the holiday would be adjusted in the long-duration holiday and it has given the holiday in view of the adverse impact on the health of students and teachers due to the heat.

Similarly, Bhimdattanagar Municipality has closed schools for four days beginning Tuesday for the same reason.

There are 349 private and 260 community schools in Kanchanpur district which has nine local governments.
