Budget has taken the right course: Dr. Minendra Rijal

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader and lawmaker Dr. Minendra Rijal has said that the basic direction of the budget is right.

Participating in the theoretical discussion on the budget in the parliament on Tuesday, Dr. Rijal said that the tax exemption has made the economy run smoothly.

Replying to CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bishnu Poudel’s remarks that the government’s policies and the programs and the budget look like the election manifesto of the ruling coalition, the NC leader reminded leader Poudel that the budget presented by the caretaker government led by UML Chairman KP Oli was more unrealistic and impractical.

Leader Poudel was the Finance Minister of the government which had dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) twice in six months.

NC leader Rijal also urged UML leader Poudel not to make criticism for criticism’s sake alone.

He said that a private-government partnership policy has been introduced for the industrial sector. He said that ventilation was the right way to build infrastructure. He reminded that the previous budget was brought by deceiving the parliament.
