Government to provide shelter to landless farmers



KATHMANDU: The government has announced of providing homes to landless farmers within the next three years.

Presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2079-80 BS (2022-23), Finance Minister announced that the government would provide shelter to landless farmers within the next three years.

Similarly, the government also announced of providing uncultivated lands to agriculture co-operatives and giving necessary training to 300 unemployed as agriculture volunteers.

Similarly, the government has announced of establishing a microfinance fund to extend loans equivalent to Rs 500 billion as agricultural loans under which banks and financial institutions are required to extend loans to underprivileged groups and the agriculture sector.

Moreover, institutions like Citizen Investment Trust, Employee Provident Fund and Social Security Fund are also required to extend loans in the sector.

Moreover, the government has announced to increase employment by 30 percent in the upcoming fiscal.
