Kathmandu mayor Balen Shah inspects Bancharedanda landfill site



KATHMANDU: Newly elected mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah reached Bancharedanda landfill site in Nuwakot on the same day the election was announced.

On Friday, Shah went to inspect the Bancharedanda landfill site in Nuwakot, which is being used for waste management of the Kathmandu Metropolis. The waste management in Kathmandu has become a big issue.

Kathmandu’s garbage could not be picked up after the locals of Bancharedanda obstructed during the election period. A few days ago, garbage was taken to Bancharedanda under the protection of the security personnel.

Mayor Shah has reached Bancharedanda to understand the problems of the locals regarding the waste management.

The Office of the Returning Officer on Friday announced that Shah had been elected mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis.
