KATHMANDU: Purbakhola Rural Municipality in Palpa district has decided to take responsibility for education of parentless children.

Newly-elected Chairman of Purbakhola Rural Municipality Nun Bahadur Thapa said the local government would extend support for such students to ensure appropriate education for them.

During a media brief on Thursday, Thapa said his five-year tenure would be focused on bringing about special changes in education. Thapa was reelected for the post of chairman for the second term in the recently held local level election.

Chairman Thapa has argued that quality of community schools should be upgraded and the students should be imparted with equal education.

“In the next five years, the parents and children here will realize changes in academic sector here. Achievements on science and technology, human resource development and education development would be made,” Thapa announced.
