KATHMANDU: The counting of votes of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has reached the final stage.
According to the latest updates made public some time ago, 183,679 votes have been counted, according to the Office of the Returning Officer, Kathmandu. Now only three wards remain to be counted.
According to the latest results, independent candidate Balen Shah got 59,149 votes while his nearest rival Sirjana Singh polled 37,542 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Keshav Sthapit got 37,218 votes.
UML candidate Sunita Dangol got 66,878 votes for the post of deputy mayor while her nearest rival candidate Rameshwar Shrestha got 23,031 votes.
In Kathmandu metropolis, 191,186 votes were cast.
