NC’s Neupane registers victory in Byas municipality



DAMAULI: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Baikuntha Nath Neupane has been elected the mayor of Byas municipality in Tanahun for a second term.

He secured 12,078 votes while his close contender, independent candidate, Deepak Raj Joshi obtained 11,826.

Likewise, NC candidate Indira Darai emerged victorious in the post of deputy mayor in Damauli with 13,498 votes. Her nearest rival Basundhara Gharti of CPN-UML received 10,042 votes.

NC has won 11 out of 14 wards with panel whereas UML registered victory in three wards.
