NC, Maoist Center get leadership in Jumla



JUMLA: Out of eight local levels in Jumla district, the Nepali Congress (NC) has won election in five local levels.

Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected in two local levels while independent candidate registered victory in Chandannath municipality.

Independent candidate Raju Singh Kathayat won mayoral post of the municipality securing 2,403 votes. Kathayat’s arch-rival Padam Bahadur Shahi got 2,341 votes.

NC candidates have been elected vice-chairpersons of Hima and Kanaka Sundari rural municipalities and deputy-mayor of Chandannath municipality.

Similarly, Maoist Center candidates became chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of Tila and Sinja rural municipalities. The Maoist Center also registered its victory to the post of vice-chairperson of Tatopani and Patarasi rural municipalities.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has got its victory only to the post of vice- chairperson of Guthichour rural municipality in the district.
