Maoist Center candidate wins mayor post of Belkotgadhi



NUWAKOT: Jag Bahadur Gurung of the CPN (Maoist Center) has been elected as the mayor of Belkotgadhi municipality in Nuwakot.

Similarly, Shiva Prasad Dahal of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been elected as the deputy mayor.

According to the final results announced today, the Maoist candidate Gurung won the election with 13,222 votes.

His closest rival Rajendra Man Khanal of the CPN-UML) polled 6,749 votes.

For the deputy mayor post, NC candidate Shiva Prasad Dahal won with 10,766 votes. His nearest rival UML candidate Rupa Sapkota got 7,274 votes.

According to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer, the final results of all the 12 municipalities in Nuwakot have been made public.

NC has won the post of chiefs of seven municipalities, Maoist Center in four and UML in one in the district.
