Balen continues to lead in Kathmandu, Renu ahead in Bharatpur



KATHMANDU: Independent candidate Balen Shah has continued to lead in Kathmandu Metropolitan City while Maoist Center’s Renu Dahal is ahead in Bharatpur Metropolis.

So far, Balen has received 16,052 votes in Kathmandu while Renu Dahal has got 9,970.

Balen’s rival CPN-UML’s Keshav Sthapit has got 8,345 votes.

More than 41,505 votes have been counted in Kathmandu Metropolitan City as of now.

In Kathmandu, Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Singh has got 7,511 votes.

The counting of votes in wards 1 and 2 of Kathmandu Metropolis has been completed. Candidates of the main opposition — CPN-UML – have won in both wards.

With a total of 28,267 votes counted in Bharatpur so far, UML’s Bijay Subedi has got 8,258 votes while Nepali Congress rebel candidate Jagannath Poudel has got 4,504 votes.
