Bharatpur Metropolis update: Over 20,000 votes counted till 4 pm

KATHMANDU: As many as 20,088 votes have been counted in Bharatpur Metropolitan City till 4 pm on Tuesday.

Ruling coalition and CPN (Maoist Center) candidate Renu Dahal has been increasing her lead in the mayoral election. Dahal received 6,794 votes so far.

Her rival Vijay Subedi of CPN (UML) has 6,548 votes while independent candidate Jagannath Poudel is behind with 3,309 votes.

Nepali Congress’ Chitrasen Adhikari is leading in deputy mayor race in the metropolis. He is ahead with 9,248 votes while rival Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is behind with 5,388 votes.

Counting of votes of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-5 is underway.

A total of 1,27,566 votes were cast in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
