RPP widens lead in Damak municipality

RPP: 7,553, UML: 6,684



JHAPA: Ratriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) led by Rajendra Lingden has made a wide margin of votes in Damak municipality of Jhapa.

According to the results counted so far, RPP’s Ram Thapa has received 7,553 votes for the post of mayor.

His closest rival Gita Adhikari of the CPN-UML got 6,684 votes.

Similarly, for the post of deputy mayor, Regina Bhattarai of the Nepali Congress got 7,231 votes from the alliance.

Her nearest rival Ambika Khanal of UML got 6,592 votes.

It should be noted that Damak is the home town of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
