Five killed in separate road accidents



KATHMANDU: Five people were killed in separate road accidents in Darchula and Rasuwa districts in the last 24 hours.

In Darchula, three people were dead when a microbus (Ma 1 Ja 277) heading to Panebanja from Gokuleshwor skidded off the road and fell into local river at Gyani of Shailyashikhar Municipality-6.

The dead have been identified as driver of the ill-fated vehicle Prakash Singh Dhami, 23, Nabin Singh Dhami, 22, and Hari Singh Dhami, 19. All of the deceased were from the locality, said the police.

Similarly, two people were killed in a motorcycle accident at Uttargaya-5 in Rasuwa district on Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as Ram Tamang, 40, of Uttargaya Rural Municipality-1 and Pampha Tamang, 43, of Bidur Municipality-10 in Nuwakot district. One of them was the motorcycle rider and another pillion passenger, said the district police office.

The ill-fated motorcycle (Ba 96 Ja 2094) was headed to Khaltebagar from Betrawati. The deceased were on the way to congratulate newly elected ward chair of Uttargaya Rural Municipality-4. Investigations were underway, said the police.
